Act now! It’s not to early and it’s not to late! World Hunger Day occurs October 16th.
Together we can work together to raise awareness in our schools, churches, and where we work.
Hunger affects over 1.02 billion people in the world and of those 1.02 billion people, 90% live in extreme poverty. This means that they live on less than a dollar a day.
When we work to fight world hunger we give people more than just food. We help nursing mothers get food and we create healthier children which in turn reduces infant mortality.
We may not be able to end it now, but everything we do makes a difference. Every short term and long term project can touch the lives of many people.
In my school during the week of World Food Day I will post fliers and posters around school to raise awareness. Then on Friday I will host a bake sale where all the proceeds will go to a local food pantry that helps the homeless.
Let’s make a difference together.
